Pre-Employment Transition Services

Goodwill’s pre-employment transition services program is designed to engage students with disabilities in workplace readiness, career exploration and work experience activities to prepare them for the workforce.

The pre-employment transition services program engages students age 16-22 with disabilities in workplace readiness, career exploration and work experience activities.  This program encourages students to prepare for and maximize their successful transition from life as a student to life as an independent community member.

In this 8-week summer program, students participate in:

  • pre-enrollment intake
  • classroom training to include career exploration, soft skills, self-advocacy and workplace readiness
  • onsite work experience in retail and hospitality
  • program graduation celebration

Throughout the 8 weeks Goodwill’s Employment Skills Trainers provide daily support to a small group of program participants in the classroom and at each work experience site.
