Goodwill hosts four public auctions in Richmond each week – Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings and Wednesday evenings.

  • Morning auction (Monday, Wednesday and Friday) preview begins at 8:30am, with live auction beginning at 9:00am.
  • Evening auction (Wednesday only) preview begins at 5:30pm, with live auction beginning at 6:00pm

The auction is hosted at Goodwill’s Central Virginia support center, located at 6301 Midlothian Turnpike, Richmond VA 23225.

Auctions feature merchandise that does not sell in Goodwill’s retail stores or outlets but still has value, or is too large for our retail store sales floor.  On any given auction day, thousands of items are on the block, including but not limited to:

  • Bikes
  • Books
  • Electronics
  • Furniture
  • Housewares
  • Toys

Adults age 18 and older can register for $1 and preview items one hour before bidding starts.  It’s a true auction environment, with a professional auctioneer (Doug Sinclair, CEO / CAI, AARE, GPPA (VAAR #3470) of Sinclair & Associates, Inc.) keeping bidders engaged with more than 200 lots up for bid at each auction.

Goodwill hosts a special antiques and collectibles auction on the first Friday of every month.

There are also holiday auctions on:

  • Memorial Day
  • July 4th
  • Labor Day
