The Goodwill Academy Transition to Employment Services (GATES) pilot project is designed to provide Goodwill sponsored employment opportunities to individuals with disabilities/barriers to employment referred by established community partners.
The referred individual must be unfunded for employment support services at the time of consideration for participation in employment. Available positions within this program are incredibly limited during this pilot phase.
Pilot Model
- Individuals in this pilot will be hired for part time employment for up to 4 months.
- New associate will be connected to a Mission Impact Case Manager and a Career Advisor once on the job.
- Mission Integration Employment Support Services will only be connected if the new hire requires additional employment supports to become acclimated or trained to perform job essential tasks successfully.
- Associate will receive regularly scheduled monthly check-ins to ensure follow up on progress, development and identify any needs that must be addressed.
- At 90 days, the associate will meet with Case Manager and Site Supervisor to review associate job performance, outcome of planned goals and discuss the pathway forward as 4th month approaches. Pathway could be recommendation of continued competitive employment at Goodwill or with an external community employer, transition to Mission Integration Supported Employment service or other service/educational path.
