Laura Faison

Chief Communications Officer

As Chief Communications Officer, Laura Faison provides strategic oversight to the marketing, communications, development, public relations and experience efforts of Goodwill of Central and Coastal Virginia.

Laura joined Goodwill in 2006 as grant writer in the Development department, and over the next 16 years grew in her career with GCCVA through various marketing, development and communications roles.  During her tenure, she has been responsible for the oversight of two website development projects for GCCVA, as well as work on three Capital campaigns, countless advertising initiatives and the branding of nearly 30 new retail store or renovation projects.  In 2008, Laura launched GCCVA’s first social media channels, organically growing audience and reach in the years that followed before bringing on staff to manage the platforms as GCCVA’s primary advertising outlet.

Laura completed The Community Foundation for a greater Richmond’s Emerging Nonprofit Leaders Program in October 2020, and is a Leadership Metro Richmond (LMR) Leadership Quest Class of 2022 Graduate.  Laura serves as Chair of the Next Generation Council for SOAR365, and previously served as a member of the 501TechClub Council and ConnectVA Catalyst Council which helped develop and launch the present-day ConnectVA website.

Laura is a 2006 graduate of Randolph-Macon College (Ashland), with degrees in Business and Economics and minor in Journalism.  In 2015, Laura received her Webmaster Certification from The University of Richmond.  She resides in Chester with husband, son, and furry child and is an avid chef and cookbook collector.
