Goodwill of Central and Coastal Virginia Experiences Business Interruption

RICHMOND (Nov. 22, 2021) – On Saturday, November 20, Goodwill of Central and Coastal Virginia (GCCVA) determined that it was the target of an organized cybersecurity attack, affecting some of the servers supporting its IT systems. GCCVA took immediate action, investigating the integrity of all affected systems, notifying authorities, and working with security experts to resolve the situation. GCCVA is actively working with a cybersecurity firm to restore all systems as quickly as possible.

This attack directly impacts GCCVA’s ability to deliver our mission of changing lives through the power of work to those who depend on our operations and services in the community. Our retail and donation operations are once again open, and we thank our shoppers, donors, clients, and associates for their continued support as we remediate this threat in the days ahead.
