Goodwill is accepting housewares, textiles and electronic donations at the Chesapeake Recycles Day Event!
Goodwill is partnering with the City of Chesapeake, along with the SPSA, Shred-It and TFC Recycling, to collect a wide variety of items. In general, accepted donations will include electronics, clothing, household items, household hazardous waste, and sensitive documents.
What is not accepted?
- Plastic bags (please recycle at a local store)
- Tube TVs (flat panel TVs 42 inches and smaller only!)
- Business items (personal only – items brought in a business-labeled vehicle cannot be accepted)
- For shredding, no magazines, books, CDs, disks, or any non-sensitive documents (junk mail, blank envelopes, etc.).
Visit this link for more information on acceptable donations.
When you donate electronics to Goodwill, our E-Recycle stores use a U.S. Department of Defense-grade program on devices to clean hard drives and erase personal and sensitive information.
Keep e-waste out of landfills by donating them to Goodwill for refurbishment or safe disposal! For more information about e-recycling and Goodwill’s computer stores CLICK HERE.
