News Alert: New Goodwill® Store Opens in Williamsburg with Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony

Goodwill® of Central and Coastal Virginia is thrilled to announce the grand opening of its newest store in James City County, providing residents with a fresh opportunity to embrace sustainable shopping and donating. This 13,818-square-foot location, including a spacious 9,200-square-foot sales floor, will serve as the county’s first Goodwill® and the second location in the Williamsburg area.

Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony Details

  • When: Thursday, Nov. 14, 2024, at 8:45 a.m.
  • Where: 4501 News Road, Williamsburg, VA 23188

What to Expect:

  • Celebrate the opening with a ribbon-cutting event attended by Goodwill® representatives, local officials, and community members.
  • Enjoy reusable Goodwill® bags (while supplies last), gift card giveaways, and exciting prizes.

The store will employ 24 associates when fully staffed and includes a covered, drive-thru donation door for convenient drop-offs. Donations support Goodwill®’s sustainability mission, keeping over 40 million pounds of items out of landfills annually, while revenue from sales funds job training and career development programs.

Store Hours:

  • Monday – Saturday: 9:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.
  • Sunday: Donations only, 11:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
