Donation Event – Goodwill Denim Drive

Goodwill is accepting donations for the 2022 Denim Drive. 

Goodwill of Central and Coastal Virginia is hosting collection days for the general public to boost Goodwill’s third annual Denim Drive benefiting Chesterfield County Public Schools and Goodwill. Support the efforts by bringing your denim donations and designating which school YOU want to receive credit.

October 15th & 16th drop-off site:

Chesterfield Career and Technical Center, 13900 Hull Street Road, Midlothian, VA 23112

Prizes will be awarded to the top three Chesterfield County public elementary, middle, and high schools who collect the most denim.

Goodwill turns the jeans into jobs by reselling the denim to fund workforce development programs for individuals facing challenges to work. The drive also raises awareness of the “greening” of blue jeans that are recycled and repurposed for a good cause, and it gives local public schools the ability to win cash prizes for discretionary needs. Most of the items go directly to Goodwill retail stores for re-sale; some denim is sold to recyclers for other purposes, such as creating insulation.
