Your Guide to Spreading Joy and Finding Treasures This Holiday Season

The holiday season is upon us, bringing opportunities to give back, declutter and discover hidden gems for your celebrations. Goodwill of Central and Coastal Virginia, in partnership with Richmond Family Magazine, is making it even more exciting with the “12 Days of Christmas” Donation Challenge.

Here’s everything you need to know to make the most of your end-of-year shopping and donating with Goodwill!

Join the 12 Days of Christmas Challenge

Between Dec. 1 and Dec. 12, clean out your closets, gather 12 gently used items and head to your local Goodwill Attended Donation Center in Central Virginia. Once you drop off your donations, snap a photo, share it on social media and tag both Richmond Family Magazine at @RMFOnline and Goodwill of Central and Coastal Virginia at @GoodwillCVAandHR on Facebook, Instagram or both!

Why participate? Besides the joy of decluttering and giving back, you could win a $250 Goodwill gift card, valid at stores in Central and Coastal Virginia only. Imagine the treasures you could find for holiday gifting or a fresh New Year’s wardrobe!

Declutter for a Cause

Holiday giving often starts at home. Take stock of your winter wear, holiday decorations and other used items that could have a second life. Whether it’s jackets, pants, shoes or Christmas and Hanukkah décor, your donations to Goodwill support local communities.

Your donations directly fund programs that provide job training, employment opportunities and empowerment to individuals seeking a better future. By giving to Goodwill, you’re not just clearing space—you’re creating opportunities.

Shop for the Holidays Without Breaking the Bank

Why spend a fortune on holiday outfits or home decor when Goodwill has everything you need? With an ever-changing selection of clothes, shoes, accessories and decorations, Goodwill offers unique finds for holiday gifting, seasonal décor or celebrations.

Goodwill stores stock an average of 49,000 items per store, with 2,000 new pieces hitting the shelves daily. Each visit feels like a treasure hunt, with endless possibilities to suit your style and budget.

When you shop at Goodwill, you’re doing more than finding great deals—you’re changing lives. Every dollar spent helps fund job training and employment programs for individuals in our community. Your generosity and thriftiness create a ripple effect of positive change.

This holiday season, let’s embrace the spirit of giving and sustainability with Goodwill of Central and Coastal Virginia. Together, we can make the season brighter for ourselves and our community.
