ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties within the scope of this position may be assigned. Leadership: Retail Assistant Operations Managers, in their manner and appearance, keep a positive work environment and act as exemplary role models to their staff, their customer and their communities.
Store goals; identify work to be done; prioritize and delegate to reach performance goals. Hold self and team accountable for driving results.

Assist in the execution of key on-boarding principles to prepare and nurture new and transferred associates.
Assist with the execution of effective monthly staff meetings and monthly check in meetings.

Recognize and reward behaviors that reinforce both progress and success utilizing all recognition programs.
Identify and develop associates who are not meeting their productivity potential.
Planning and Execution: Manage the execution of departmental and company strategic initiatives for assigned location.
Maximize the value of donated goods. Ensure donations are received and processed quickly and efficiently. Monitor inventory levels, production, and donation volume to drive retail sales.
Adhere to and help develop Goodwill operational standards. This includes pricing, rotation schedule and plant returns. Demand a high level of excellence in store appearance: visual merchandising, stock levels, housekeeping, and associate uniforms.
Submit required reports accurately, neatly and in a timely manner. (Posted Schedules, Payroll Change Notice, New Hire Department Orientation and Job Descriptions, Performance Appraisals, Kronos Documentation, Performance Management Documents, Payroll, Donor Counts, etc.)
Ensure the security of company assets. Immediately report known or suspected security and/or theft problems (internal/external).
Know, adhere to, and enforce Goodwill policies & procedures and operational direction as specified in the Retail Operations Manual.
Business Requirements: Execute functional responsibilities.
Access external resources to support store operations and to execute departmental and company initiatives such as Marketing, Assets Protection, Finance, Facilities, Human Resources and Workforce Development.
Solicit customer and associate feedback to understand customer needs within the local community.
Utilize management information tools such as Daily Sales, Production Report, Sales by Commodity, Round Up, Monthly Variance and Expense Reports to determine store activity.
Respond to customer inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
Communicate directly and consistently with supervisor, relating problems with store operation and personnel.

- Performs other duties as assigned
- Performs the duties of the Retail Assistant Manager as assigned
- Associate’s or Bachelors Degree and/or 3 years of management experience in retail
- Strong supervisory and communication skills
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and push/pull up to 100 pounds
