Goodwill Appoints New Board and Advisory Board Members E.V. Clarke and Ron Carey

June 13, 2017 (Richmond, Va.) – Goodwill of Central and Coastal Virginia appointed E.V. Clarke to its board of directors and Ron Carey to its advisory board.

Clarke is the Principal of EV3 Solutions LLC., a business advisory firm based in Richmond. Clarke’s career spans more than 30 years and includes serving as president for Phillips Pet Supply; chief marketing officer and chief operating officer of Henry Schein Medical and executive vice president of Owens and Minor, both of which are Fortune 300 companies. He earned his B.A. from Kent State University and has served on the board for FeedMore, the Virginia Association of Free and Charitable Clinics, and the Virginia Lung Association.

“E.V. has shown a keen interest in workforce development and shares our vision of working directly with employers in order to create more mission impact,” said Charles Layman, president and CEO of Goodwill. “His experience as a business leader for large employers brings valuable perspective to the Boardroom.”

Ron Carey

Carey is president of Studio Squared, a digital content solutions agency based in Richmond. Prior to Studio Squared, Carey served as senior vice president and as director of human resources for The Martin Agency. He has held leadership positions with the Richmond Times Dispatch, Starburst and Skittles, and M&M/Mars. Carey earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Virginia and a mini MBA from the University of Richmond. He has served on the boards of the Virginia Athletics Foundation, the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Richmond and ChildSavers.

“Ron is a proven innovator who understands how to manage change,” said Layman. “We welcome him at a time when Goodwill is undergoing significant changes to achieve greater impact on those we serve.”
