A Message from Mark A. Barth, President & CEO
At Goodwill of Central and Coastal Virginia, our mission is changing lives…helping people help themselves through the power of work. We are grateful for the loyal shoppers, donors, associates and community partners who make this mission a reality.
We believe that we’ve crossed a threshold with the COVID-19 pandemic, and have made the difficult decision to close our stores for two weeks beginning Saturday, March 21 through Saturday, April 4, 2020. We will continue to assess the situation. Goodwill associates will continue to receive full pay and benefits during this time. Our Community Employment Centers are also closed, and our support staff are teleworking.
To continue to serve the community, we will accept donations at our retail stores’ drive-thru donation sites and our attended donation centers from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily. In addition, the community can continue to shop gently-used goods online at ShopGoodwill.com, which offers items from Goodwills across the country.
The COVID-19 pandemic has changed the lives and livelihoods of all of us. When we get through this, Goodwill will stand ready to provide workforce development services that help people reclaim their lives. We thank all of you who support our mission and wish you good health.
