There are many ways to shop Goodwill. But there are even more important reasons WHY you should shop Goodwill.
Shopping Goodwill contributes directly to our mission of getting individuals with challenges to work.
Your purchases support the job training for your Goodwill store associates as well as the job seeker services provided at no charge through our Community Employment Services. It’s a great shopping spree for you and your family and an investment in helping to prepare today’s job seeker for tomorrow’s workforce.
And shopping Goodwill helps keep over 35 million pounds of household items out of area landfills every year. Your purchases protect our planet through re-use.
Goodwill of Central and Coastal Virginia operates more than 30 stores throughout metro Richmond and Hampton Roads, so you never have to travel far to find us. In fact, we suggest you visit multiple stores often as each carries a unique inventory and you’ll find at least 2,000 new items on every sales floor, every day. And be sure to visit our specialty stores- we have two – an upscale boutique called Second Debut in the Carytown section of Richmond and a media store in Suffolk. You’ll find designer labels and unique treasures at Second Debut. While at our Bridge Road Media Store, you’ll find gently used electronics, DVDs, CDs, and books.
If you like to stock up on basics or treasure hunt for the unusual, then Goodwill’s outlets are for you! Located adjacent to our Richmond and Hampton Support Centers, the pricing by the pound in our outlets can be a great deal for you and your family.
In Richmond only, Goodwill hosts four public auctions each week, as well as special holiday auctions — all with thousands of housewares, electronics, furniture, collectibles, toys, books and more! All auctions are held at Goodwill’s Support Center at 6301 Midlothian Turnpike, just east of Chippenham Parkway. Enter through the rear of the building for a fast and furious auction experience led by Doug Sinclair, CEO / CAI, AARE, GPPA (VAAR #3470) of Sinclair & Associates, Inc. [Registration costs $1.00. There is no buyer’s fee or other charges. Bidding is open to individuals ages 18 and older.]
