Richmond, VA, September 3rd, 2015 – A new Goodwill retail store and donation center will open its doors Thursday, September 10th at 9 a.m. A first for Powhatan, this is Goodwill’s 16th store location in Central Virginia, and 32nd for its territory.
The new Goodwill is located at 1885 Stavemill Crossing in Powhatan (at the intersection of Stavemill and Route 60). Another Goodwill store means 20+ new jobs for Powhatan, as well as more funding for Goodwill’s mission of providing job skills training and career development programs for individuals with obstacles to employment.
Powhatan shoppers will be pleased to find many things that are a cut above the thrift store stereotype Things like:
- A well-appointed store with more of a traditional retail feel, knowledgeable sales staff, a return policy, gift cards, and a frequent donor discount shopping program.
- Competitive pricing with the average cost for adult clothing at $4.99.
- A covered drive-thru donation center.
“Our stores are fundamental in our ability to fund programs that help people prepare for and gain employment in a range of fields across a variety of industries. We are pleased to be growing, this time in Powhatan,” says Charles D. Layman, President and CEO of Goodwill.
The 15,000+ sales floor will include everything from clothing, to electronics, refurbished computer equipment, toys, books, house wares, furniture, and home accents. Store hours will be Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
