|September 27, 2016, marks CARF International’s 50th anniversary. Beginning in 1966 with a mere 4 employees, a single office in Chicago, Illinois, and 4 accredited providers in the United States, we have experienced exceptional growth, evolving into one of the world’s leading accrediting bodies for health and human services. CARF is now composed of 108 employees, about 1,400 surveyors, 5 offices, and almost 7,000 service providers with more than 50,000 accredited programs and services at 23,000 locations worldwide.
Over the past year, we have been showcasing the many partners—service providers, persons served, surveyors, and membership/advocacy organizations—that contribute to or support our vision to improve the quality of life of persons served.
